Why Hydrotherapy?

“Naturopathic” hydrotherapy is how we think of our work at Sanctuary Spa. Our belief in the therapeutic use of hot and cold applications of water to the body for a period of time has a profound effect on the quality of one's health.

Hydrotherapy is the application of water in any form either externally or internally, for the treatment and maintenance of health.

It is our goal through the application of hot and cold water to manipulate the circulation throughout the body, maximizing the life-giving properties of blood and increasing flow through the organs of elimination, such as the skin, liver, kidneys and bowels. Detoxification, and thereby improvement, of the blood takes place. In addition to improving blood by eliminating undesirable elements such as waste products, we believe that water treatments can also help build the blood up by increasing desirable elements such as oxygen, nutrients, red cells and white cells, etc. We view blood as the conveyer of life. Alternating temperature or warm temperature. Alternating temperature shower to oxygenate & detoxify blood. Excellent for devitalized body, low energy and stress. Warm temperature shower for deep relaxation. Feel the stress melt from your body and be relieved afterwards. Great as a prelude to a fabulous body massage.

Seaweed body wrap to re-mineralize and detox the body. Very relaxing and excellent for stress, as well as various skin conditions such as dryness, rash and/or flaking. Improves conditions of cellulite and overweight with regular wraps. Great when combined with Salt Glow.

Black silt (mud) is a curative organic mud originated from unpolluted protected forest reserves in Northern Europe. Results from a body wrap with our organic silt will result in improved skin metabolism, plumped skin layers, healthier blood and regeneration of the skin’s immune system. This curative mud is a carrier of energy, substance and information on a cellular level.

Seaweed and essential oils in this pack are effective at stimulating circulation, creating deep abdominal warmth for local regeneration, pain relief and healing. Combined with five minutes of massage to the area, abdominal distention and constipation are helped.

Black silt (mud) and marine fango (sea mud) to de-stress and detox the back, plus a great little back massage and hand & foot massage. This treatment is great by itself. It can also be added to any massage for $55 (a $35 discount).

This “Vichy” style foot bath is great for headache and fatigue. This is a super deluxe treatment which is very relaxing and especially soothing for the feet and lower legs. Sea salt scrub, callous and cuticle cleaned along with a Vichy treatment to the area. No polish. “Kissable feet”, said one client!

Our own blend of black silt with its curative powers and paraffin ushered by a Dead Sea salt scrub, callous and cuticle treatment and a Vichy treatment to the lower legs as well as the feet. No polish, just “kissable feet”.

This is a luxury hand treatment which includes the arms and is extraordinary in the realm of hand treatments. Exfoliation, hot and cold dips, repair and grooming makes this a very soothing and relaxing treatment which effects the whole body. Finished paraffin treatment. No nail polish.

Dead Sea salts mixed with algae extracts and essential oils to hydrate and exfoliate the body. Increases sluggish circulation, improves digestion and elimination, general body weakness and poor resistance to disease and infection. Makes the skin feel superb. A very popular treatment.

$115 Thai Herbal Poultice Massage 1 Hour 15 Minutes

In Thailand, round cotton bundles containing herbal mixtures were once the secret tools of ancient healers, and up until recently, could be obtained only from traditional healers of Thailand. Now, this herbal poultice is available at Sanctuary. A mentholated feeling reaches deep into sore aching muscles to provide relief. Pressure and kneading from the steam heated bundle produces deep relaxation and stress relief. A final touch of oil and lotion are massaged to the body afterwards leaving you with soft, glowing skin.

This treatment features luxurious mineral clays applied methodically to balance body regions by incorporating the five elements of earth, fire, water, wood and metal. When finished, enjoy a soak in our Infusion Tub.

Brush & soap massage is great to reduce dead skin cells while scrubbing the body clean. Your body is left hydrated by blended essential oils which are lightly massaged into the skin. Eliminates toxins through the skin, stimulates circulation, helps firm the body, drain tissue and smooth skin texture. Great for sore muscles and stress.

$120 Rubato Detox 1 Hour 45 Minutes

Based on an old Roman therapy, your body is oiled and wrapped to generate warmth. As this occurs, toxins which have been eliminated through the skin are removed using our version of the Roman technique. Afterwards, you'll receive a brush and soap wash, followed by an application of soothing lotion. You will feel radiant from the inside out!

Our signature version of this ancient therapy. Warm oil slowly flows to the center of the forehead and mental relaxation overcomes you to balance your nervous system.
