Once per month, we provide photo facial treatments.  Our certified medical esthetician uses a high-tech Palomar system.  This system emits pulses of light into the skin to treat aging, sun damaged, acne or rosacea skin.  The light absorbs melanin in pigmented areas and blood from visible vessels to even out skin tone, stimulate collagen production and shrinking of enlarged pores (follicles).

IPL stands for "Intense Pulsed Light".  Each pulse of light treats a variety of skin types and conditions.  The treatment is great for pigmented spots like sunspots or age spots by delivering a pulse of intense light which passes harmlessly through the skin and is absorbed by th epigment in the lesion.  Thelight heats the pigment and disables the cells that produced it.  These dead cells are naturally shed by the body after about two weeks, leaving behind fresh, unblemished skin.

Pulsed light treats vessels such as those that cause Rosacea and Telangiectasias by heating the hemoglobin within the vein.  The absorption of heat causes injury to the internal walls of the veins, causing them to collapse and fade from view.

Acne is treated with the same process of light pulses into the skin to treat acne skin types by destroying bacteria and slowing down the metabolism of hyperactive sebaceous glands.
